LoadRunner - Interview Question #1

Q. 1 What is LoadRunner?
Ans. LoadRunner is a performance testing tool, used for simulating the real-time load on the application and validate the performance.

Q. 2 How does LoadRunner work?
Ans. LoadRunner is a scripting based tool that simulates real-time user behaviour. Firstly, the user behaviour is recorded and prepare a script using VuGen component, that script is executed through the controller/performance center component and at last the test results are analysed using the Analysis component.

Q. 3 What are the components of LoadRunner?
Ans. The major components of LoadRunner are:
a. VUGen: Used for scripting purpose. It records Vuser scripts that emulate the actions of real users. 
b. Controller (Performance Center): The controller is used to create the scenario and execute the script as per non-functional requirement whereas performance center acts like an administrative center for creating, maintaining and executing load test. 
c. Load Generator: It is an agent through which load can be generated. 
d. Analysis: It is used to view the test result, helps to conduct a deep analysis by merging and correlating the graph and generate the test report.
Q. 4 What is load runner Agent?
Ans: The LoadRunner Agent is an interface between the host machine and controller.

Q. 5 What are the steps involved in the preparation of the LoadRunner script?
Ans: There are the following steps involved:
a. Choose the protocol 
b. Record the script 
c. Script Enhancement (Correlation, Parameterization, Add logic etc.) 
d. Replay the script
